This including foreign body removal, corneal abrasions, conjunctivitis, infective keratitis, iritis, and other sudden eye injuries or infections. We are ACC‑registered, which means we can lodge a claim with ACC on your behalf, and a it could be a subsidised consultation.

If your eyes suddenly become red, irritated, or painful, it’s important to get checked as soon as possible. Painful, irritated red eyes are a cause for concern and require urgent attention. Some eye conditions are time-critical and can lead to potentially sight-threatening consequences.
Signs or symptoms requiring urgent attention include:
New pain, redness, or swelling of the eyes
Sudden loss or changing vision in one or both eyes
Double vision
Discharge from the eye - mucous, pus, or excessive watering
Eye injuries, such as blunt trauma to the eyeball, or foreign material entering the eye
New floaters, flashes of light, and/or a curtain over your vision
Headaches
